Share & Voice: Gov't Pushing More Fuel Efficiency for Trucks
The article I am choosing to share is from ABC News online. The article is called "Gov't Pushing More Fuel Efficiency for Trucks". The article talks about how for the first time every the Environmental Protection Agency and the Transportation Department have announced a proposal to make trucks (mostly semi-trucks for transporting) more fuel efficient. There will be set regulations put on the amount and types of emissions that can be put into the air trying to produce a 20% reduction of carbon dioxide and fuel consumption. This proposal should be finalized by next summer and will take into effect on models coming out in the year 2014.
I think that this article is very relevant because we are now starting to take more actions in the government and also different areas that we have never taken action in before. This can immensely help our environment in the future and hopefully slow down the global warming process. We will continue to be using semi-trucks for many years to come so for us to start thinking now about how to reduce emissions is a great thing. I'm glad the EPA is also stepping in to help. The article is linked above so feel free to read more about it!

Very cool! I am glad the government is realizing the hazards of motor vehicles, especially trucks. Almost every company uses trucks to haul their product. It will help the environment greatly if they change the amount of emissions these trucks produce!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great idea for the government to start using more fuel efficient vehicles. Just think, all the foods and products that we don't locally make or grow that have to be driven here, and how much hazardous waste is being brought into our environment.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good idea and a great step for our environment.
ReplyDeleteThis is great news. I think the government has known for years about fuel efficiency. I am a firm believer that they are controlling how efficient our vehicles are and can be.
ReplyDeleteGood news. Whenever I am stopped next to a truck at a traffic light and the light turns green I always hate seeing the trucks start up and noticing all of the exhaust makes me really sad. So this is really great to hear.
